Maternity Clothes and their Colors

So much fairly uneventful information to catch you all up on! We had our level 2/anatomy ultrasound last week and everything looked great.  We still have a little boy and a little girl growing along, albeit much more visibly this time.  Weighing in at about 13 oz each at that time (they should each be over a pound now), they were growing at the same rate and were right on track.  They’re both still growing at the rate of singletons at the moment, so I’m matching other people who are 21 weeks pregnant (except I’ve got two). My uterus is about 5-6 weeks ahead in order to accommodate these sweet babes. They were both moving around quite a bit; this time, the boy was the aggressor. He hit his sister in the face and it looked quite aggressive. Rest assured, he’s not hurting her, but I’m glad they have a good, healthy, sibling relationship with one another within the womb. They also fist bumped at one point which was quite cute.  Hard to believe they already have such a relationship and they’re only a pound each. As of now, my next appointment is at 24 weeks.

How far along? 21 weeks.

Total weight gain/loss? up 13-15 lbs.

Maternity clothes? Oh yes.  But. Why are the colors so weird? Are they mocking me? There are no reds…there’s merlot, cabernet, etc.  It feels mocking; like, you can’t have wine, but do you want some oversized maternity clothes that will remind you of wine every day?  Anyway, I’m a big fan of dresses so my belly isn’t bound.

Stretch marks? No new ones, still.

Sleep? Better since my friend gave me a pillow, but not great.

Best moment this week? Feeling them move more! I know when it’s her, but I can’t quite figure out when it’s him. I need to start tracking them separately. I wish I could deploy some type of FindMyBaby app where it shined a little light on the outside of my belly where each one of them was.  Maybe if Steve Jobs’ life wasn’t ended prematurely, he would’ve been able to create that.

Miss Anything? Not really, I suppose.  Walking up stairs without getting winded? But, let’s be serious, depending on the quantity of stairs, that’s not necessarily a pregnancy thing.

Movement? Yep, yep, yep!  I want Justin to feel them but I don’t know that it’s quite strong enough yet, but we keep trying.

Food cravings? Nada.  Still having dessert most nights, but I wouldn’t call it a craving. More of an attempt to get calories while eating something delicious.

Have you started to show yet? Yes! See previous blog Bump date!

Sexes? Last week’s ultrasound showed that we still have a boy and a girl!

Labor Signs? Braxton Hicks have started….which I don’t love.  The doctor gave me signs to watch for as far as when to get worried and to seek medical attention.  It’s important to stay stress-free and well-hydrated.  I’ve got one of those 100% covered, so we shall see how it goes! So far, they’ve not been too consistent which is good.

Belly Button in or out? In.  Again, I don’t see any way this thing is coming out.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or Moody most of the time? Happy! Starting to get more emotional, I suppose, but I wouldn’t call it moody.  I’m emphatic and expressive. 😉

Looking forward to? Getting the cribs put together this week, hopefully!

What I’m worried about this week:  Same as always. I want the babies to stay in the womb for as long as possible. I’ve had several dreams/premonitions/signs that I’ll be giving birth in January which I don’t love the idea of.  But, for those of you who don’t believe I’m clairvoyant, I’m hoping you’re correct. I want big, healthy babies.

We’re all good, here, though.  Excited for all the events in the coming months; I’m a big fan of the holidays and am excited that in under four months, our sweet miracles will be out in the world with us.

XXOX!
